Alabaster Commons
A growing protected commons where worship can be freely shared, built upon, and multiplied.
Freely received. Freely poured out. Free forever.Alabaster Commons is a place where creators freely release valuable works so others can use them, share them, translate them, adapt them, build upon them, and multiply them.
Creative work can be valuable and still be freely poured out.
Worship is giving what is valuable to the One whose value is incalculable.
The alabaster jar was precious because what it contained was valuable.
That is the heart behind Alabaster Commons.
We believe songs, books, teaching, translations, recordings, and other creative works can carry real value without being locked away from the people who need them.
Alabaster Commons exists to help creators freely pour out what they have received while preserving the freedom for others to share, translate, adapt, and multiply it.

Why Alabaster?
In Scripture, an alabaster jar held something precious.
When it was broken and poured out upon Jesus, the value was not diminished by the act of giving.
The pouring revealed its value.
Alabaster Commons carries that same picture into creative work.
We pour out what is valuable because He is worthy—and we make room for others to carry it farther than we ever could alone.
How the Commons Works
Alabaster Commons is built around a simple idea:
Create freely. Share freely. Keep it free.
Creators offer original work into the Commons while retaining attribution for what they created.
Others are free to use, copy, teach, record, translate, and adapt the work.
New versions and adaptations remain freely available so the creative gift continues to multiply.
Heaven’s Sound
Worshipers Echoing Heaven
Heaven’s Sound explores the biblical calling of worshipers to hear, carry, and release the sound of Heaven on earth.
The book is accompanied by music, audio, and creative resources designed to let the message be experienced as well as read.
It is also one of the first major works being released through Alabaster Commons—freely shared so it can travel, translate, multiply, and inspire new expressions of worship.
Alabaster Copyright
Freedom does not have to mean losing authorship.
Alabaster Copyright uses an open licensing framework to protect both the creator and the freedom of the work.
Most original Alabaster Commons content is released under the Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
That means others are free to share and adapt the work—with attribution—and new adaptations must preserve the same freedom for others.
The work is protected so the freedom can remain protected.
The Commons Is Growing
Alabaster Commons is beginning with worship, music, books, and teaching—but the vision is larger.
Over time, the Commons will grow through new creators, languages, translations, arrangements, adaptations, recordings, teaching resources, and other works freely poured out for the glory of Jesus and the strengthening of His people.
What begins in one voice can multiply through many.
